Overview


The Wireless-G USB Adapter installs in most desktop or notebooks and lets you put your computer almost anywhere in the building, without the cost and hassle of running network cables.


The 54Mbps Wireless-G USB Adapter is an advanced IEEE 802.11g/b compatible, high performance, wireless card that supports data transfer speeds of up to 54 Mbps. There is also integrated with a built-in infrastructure mode. Therefore, it is an ideal device for home and SOHO networking to a share high speed internet connection, files, printers, and multimedia communications with the flexibility, speed and security you need.


This Wireless-G USB Adapter comes with software drivers for the most popular Microsoft Windows operating systems and can be integrated into a larger network, running Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98SE, Mac 10.3 or above, and Linux in either Ad Hoc mode (without an Access Point) or Infrastructure mode (with an Access Point).


WEP encryption and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), and further enhanced with 802.1x authentication security. With drivers and utility available for most commonly used Windows OS. The 2.4GHz 802.11g/b Wireless USB Adapter is a truly solid-design networking device that provides you with the ultimate freedom of wireless networking anywhere.


A setup wizard is provided as the part of the web configuration utility. You can simply follow the step-by-step process to get your wireless PC Card configuration ready to run in few easy steps by clicking on the “Wizard” button on the function menu.

Wireless Ad-Hoc Application Diagram

The wireless Ad-Hoc mode is established by several wireless clients, which have the same SSID and radio channel. The wireless USB/PCI/PC Card adapters can be used for such peer-to-peer communication mode.

 

Infrastructure Mode Application Diagram

The Access Point establishes an infrastructure mode for networking between all wireless clients and Ethernet resources.

 

Authentication with 802.1x and RADIUS Server
